COVENANT TO CARE: Helping Families in Crisis through DCF

Women-Linking-Women

Covenant to Care Report

About The Connection, Inc. and St. Paul's

The Connection, Inc. is a not for profit Human and Community Development Agency. Our agency works to strengthen our collective ability to build and sustain safe, healthy and caring communities. We are dedicated to inspiring people to reach their fullest potential as productive and valued citizens. The Connection, Inc. provides services to individuals and families throughout the state of Connecticut.

The Agency was formed in 1972 as a community response to the devastation being wrought on families and communities from the problems of abuse, dependency, addiction, crime and neglect. The Connection was one of Connecticut’s first agencies to initiate community based treatment programs. We found that services provided in the community can be very effective, helping the person or family in need. We strive to always provide state of the art services, incorporating what we have learned from best research and practice.

With regard specifically to our housing program, the aim is not just to provide a shelter for homeless people, but also to end homelessness. By helping people become a part of their community, and teaching them how to utilize resources available, we provide alternatives to being homeless and give necessary support to obtain and keep housing.

As simple as it sounds, it is not that simple and we could not do the work that we do without you. St. Paul’s Church congregation has been a true and valued partner and has provided extraordinary donations of clothes, household items and furniture.

All the Supportive Housing Clients and Bridgeport staff say a big THANK YOU to you all at St.Paul's.
